Fundamentalists Going Old School - Mythological Beasts are Back In!

These religious whack jobs are back with a new spokesbeast. Now Nessie is being used to prove creationism. But it doesn't stop with a simple statement, nope, they have been teaching this idiot curriculum in some schools in America, and now it's hitting the UK.

Scary that we still don't require facts to teach our children how to be well-educated responsible adults.

Fear of Change: Republican Conservatives Desire Wreck U.S. Government

Fear of change. 

According to Lewin's Change Management Model individuals as well as groups act in a predictable manner when exposed to change. Kurt Lewin developed a three stage model to help guide the change process. The three steps are Unfreeze, Change, and Freeze (Refreeze). The Unfreezing stage of the model is arguably the most important and complicated of the three segments. Unfreezing is necessary to move to the next stage, Change. It sets the ground work for the three stage process to be effective and hopefully permanent. Without this permanency, the results in all likelihood will be to restart the three stage model until the preferred outcome is achieved. To unfreeze properly both sides should mutually accept a direction. This acceptance is not always forthcoming. Time is needed for both sides to debate the need for change. Let us use the current state of affairs in the U.S. with the polarization of politics and the U.S. government, but in particular the Conservatives. They believe that their right to pray to their Judeo-Christian god is being taken away from them. This is the premise of the remainder of my article.

The Books of the Bible: A Critical View Series – Genesis Chapter 01

I believe the bible was written by man, not the Judea-Christian god. I cannot prove this to be true except for the lack of evidence that this god does exist. It doesn't take a learned scholar to raise questions as to the contradictions and irregularities rampant throughout holy text. This is my drop in the sea of opinion. This writing is as much for me to get what is in my head out as it is for my desire to share my thoughts with the world.

Being in the Air Force I am worried how little our government thinks about the "Big picture". Religion is a personal private relationship between the person and their god and has no place in modern professional military environments. We have theists and non-theists of all flavors serving our country (U.S.). I believe our politicians are becoming ignorant in their duties to support and speak for all of their constituents, not just those that agree with them.

What a wonderfully well said article.  I can't speak highly enough about this non-biased (in my opinion) explanation of what the author believes a Freethinker is.
